Zinah's journal

Fun stuff and other stories

Zinah Cheyenne Ame

Zinah's journal should help us to record her life as it happens - and to share it with you. We will try to update it as prompt as we can to share with you those special moments just after they have happened (and why they are hopefully still fresh in our memory!) But as we will not be able to write on a day to day basis it might be that the updating could somewhat differ from the actual time of the event happening.

We have started an "archive" for the page not to become to long and will in future shift the old entries to that folder. If someone happens not have read one of the older entry you can then just go to the archive and pull the text out you haven't read.

Thank you and have fun reading!

Here we are... a few months had passed by now and I think it is really about time to update the journal... In a few weeks our little Angel will turn 2!!! Whoa, time flies!
For her birthday, I have invited 3 children and their mums for a Sesamestreet Party on Saturday, 13th May. Depending on the weather, we will be in and outside with the children.

I must say she is becoming every day more and more independent. She only eats by herself and let me know if she needs help ("mama helfen"), she brushes her teeth by herself, wants to get dress and undress alone...

She is very music oriented (I wonder were she got that from... ). A few weeks ago we attended a church service, where Diana (my sister) was performing with her Gospel Group. Guess who was clapping all the time and even with a great sense of rhythm?! From her Godparents Chris and Dennis she received a set of congas and maracas and I guess it is about time to start with the lessons Daddy!
She loves as well to sing. You would often hear her singing to herself while doing something or while sitting in the back of the car...
Zinah can if she wants entertain herself, which sometimes gives me a break. But most of the time she would like you to play with her, puzzles, drawing, 'reading' books etc.

Her verbal development is improving every day. She puts words together and has a great treasury of words and I do more and more understand her. She is speaking clearly, forming 'longer' sentences and putting the right intonation in them for us to understand for example that she is asking a question.
She currently loves to be on the phone (yes, she is a girl ).

On March 26th, we went to a casting in Frankfurt with the agency called Sunshine Kids. They are specialized for children castings (0 to 28 years) and very famous in the Cologne area, Germany. Zinah had a lot of fun during the photo shot. In a few weeks they will provide me with a disk with the pictures taken. As soon as I do have them I will post the one or the other on the net. In the meantime, have look to the pictures taken by Rosa (thanks a lot for those nice pictures!!!) by clicking here. And of course, if ever Zinah will be booked for something, I will let you know!

Her favorite show currently is "Barney". He banded "Kipper the Dog" which she loved to watch not too long ago.

Since a few days we repeated had her use the potty and she likes it - this way we are approaching the potty-training which the day care would start anyway soon as well.

On March 23rd we had her annual checkups and everything was fine. She is waiting 12 Kg (approx. 26 pounds) and is measuring 86 cm (33.858 inches).

We keep being active and creative and are happy that finally the nice weather is back so that we can have more outdoor activities. She started riding the tricycle and well knows that she has to push the pedal but prefers right now to push forward with her feet
